Veneers are the most long-lasting cosmetic dentistry treatment. They typically last between 10-20 years with proper care.
To begin the process, you’ll come into Lady Bird Dental for a consultation with Dr. Dudeen. At this cosmetic consultation, he will perform a comprehensive oral exam. Then, Dr. Dudeen will discuss all of the cosmetic treatments that may be suitable for your situation, and help you make the right choice.
If you’re approved for veneers, you’ll schedule a follow-up appointment. At this appointment, Dr. Dudeen will clean your teeth, numb your mouth, and then remove a small amount of enamel from each tooth that’s getting a veneer. Then, he will take images and impressions of the teeth. These are used to build your permanent veneers.
Before you’re sent home, Dr. Dudeen will apply a set of temporary resin veneers to your teeth. These improve your smile and protect your teeth until your final veneers are made. Then, he will work with a dental lab to build your permanent porcelain veneers.
In 2-3 weeks, your final set of veneers will arrive at our office. You’ll come back for your final appointment. Dr. Dudeen will remove your temporaries, clean your teeth, then check the fit of your permanent veneers. If everything looks perfect, he will bond them into place. This completes the procedure.
Veneers have a lot of great benefits. First, they are more long-lasting than alternatives like dental bonding and teeth whitening. Veneers are really durable and never stain, so they will keep your smile looking great for years and decades to come.
The process is also completely pain-free. While a small amount of enamel has to be removed from your teeth to make room for veneers, this does not hurt at all. It’s similar to getting a filling for a cavity. And with sedation available at Lady Bird Dental, you can stay comfortable if you’re nervous about the procedure.
Above all else, though, veneers help improve your appearance, your self-esteem, and your confidence. Your smile will look perfect once again. In just 2-3 quick appointments, you can eliminate stains, uneven teeth, misshapen teeth, gapped teeth, and so much more.
